"We are at the mercy of complexity." - Enrica Beccalli
Enrica Beccalli's Complessità is a journey into the beauty of complexity and our role within it. Complessità is an interactive performance that inverts the traditional human-machine relation: the human loses ownership of its movements and machine computes the moving human body.
The performer is clad with a wearable device that affects her movements by sending pulses to muscles according to the movements of an algorithm that visually simulates a flock of birds. Technology and art intersect with this interaction where human and machine come together.
I photographed Complessità during Creative Tech Week where the closing night performance was met with a full house.
